You lead a life not worth living at all And if you leave, We won’t fall No we won’t fall And you’re beginning to follow in the footsteps Of the father who suddenly pushed all who cared away And focused on himself How can I see how you blame me? If I were to end my life tonight Would you notice? Or would I waste a perfectly good suicide on you Oh, Through these eyes You lead a life not worth living at all You’re a stumbling fall But we won’t fall No we won’t fall And you’re beginning to follow in the footsteps Of the father who suddenly pushed all who cared away And focused on himself But how can I see how you blame me? If I were to end my life tonight Would you notice? Or would I waste a perfectly good suicide on you Oh, Through these eyes If I were to waste my life tonight Would you notice? Or would I waste a perfectly good suicide on you Oh, Through these eyes These eyes have seen me through all the pain caused by you It’s not going away And we’ve come too far to have you give it all away to someone better If I were to end my life tonight I’d end my life tonight A perfectly good suicide on you Oh, Through these eyes

On Our Own 04:27
Here I am Open road and sunshine ahead Although it’s summer time It feels like it’s dead Out here we’re all dead And under lights burning bright And burning for life We’re giving everything we’ve got Still no one tonight Oh there’s got to be Someone out there listening But you and your good looks and over-produced jokes I doubt you would gain from it all And I feel so sorry for you and your ways But I’m here to stay And when I get to where I’m going from here No you won’t have much to say Here I am Southern west With palms in a row So much money Yet so many in the cold Just sifting and drifting Trying to make it out on their own We’ll make it on our own Oh there’s got to be Someone understanding me But you with your good looks and over-produced jokes I doubt you would gain from it all And I feel so sorry for you and your ways But I’m here to stay And when I get to where I’m going from here No you won’t have much to say

I’ve walked these streets But I walk alone So alone And I’ve filled these seats But I sing alone So alone Forsaken I’ve become Spit and spat upon From you And if karma is proven true You’re running out of time I used to know this guy who would weasel his way through life He tried to sell himself as a trustful guy But he lied Taking all he could from the blind and the offering When he died It was a crafted death Of his own design Now they’re on to you They’ve watched you move And your actions prove that they’ll come back for you You’re running out of time I knew this girl Sixteen on the verge of dropping out of high school A coked up girl with a lot to prove And she knew all the ways to get every little thing she’d want Sex sold And killed that little girl’s once sweet heart Now they’re on to you They’ve watched you move And your actions prove that they’ll come back for you You’re running out of time

This is the time Where we need you We need you the most We’ve traveled through miles and miles of homes Just to find that there’s nowhere to go We are all lost In lives that are meaning less everyday In every way And it seems to me that we’ve become content With these fruitless lives that we lead Oh, Tell me something tonight To help me to sleep Sing me a story With the happiest ending One that is better and purer than this Sing me a song With no right or wrong So we live happily But after all this Now we’re walking and talking alone Looking back at all the years But how much have we grown? We’re still missing something Something close to home But we need you We need you the most We’ve traveled through miles and miles of hope Just to find that there’s nowhere to go Sing me a story With the happiest ending One that is better and purer than this Sing me a song With no right or wrong So we live happily But after all this Sing to me Sing to me Sing to me Sing me to sleep

Sleep Tight 03:28
If you would look into my eyes I’ll tell you what you’d see You would see a reflection No you would not see me This conversation’s growing old And I’m feeling older Such weight on shoulders Puts me right over That fine line Between reality and my mind Where my nightmares come alive All while you sleep tight These days I ain’t got much to say Keep to myself and keep away For my mind it tends to stray Puts me right over That fine line Between reality and my mind Where my nightmares come alive All while you sleep tight

In a world of hate In a world of regret I am standing on what seems to be Faulty foundation Built on all of these conspiracies And who do I turn to? And exactly who am I supposed to be? But somehow you’re always there Standing and waiting for me In a world of hate In a world of regret I am standing on what seems to be Faulty foundation Built on all of these conspiracies And who do I turn to? And exactly who am I supposed to be? But somehow you’re always there Standing and waiting Alive, beautiful and patiently For me And you pick me up When I’ve fallen down When I’ve drank too much When I’m down Honey it’s you and me And that’s all I need to see And we’ll be walking down that long road Honey it’s you and me And this love that we’ll forever hold Faulty foundations Built on all of your conspiracies And who do I turn to? And exactly who am I supposed to be? But somehow you’re always there Standing and waiting Alive, beautiful and patiently For me And you pick me up When I’ve fallen down When I’ve drank too much When I’m down Honey it’s you and me And that’s all I need to see And we’ll be walking down that long road Honey it’s you and me And this love that we’ll forever hold

The Rain 03:09
Oh girl you’ve got me shaking Knees weak and I’m contemplating love Is this momentary Or simply a lack there of? Because recently I’ve felt so hollow And no, I don’t do well alone With this hopelessness I’m forced to swallow whole And where is the rain? So he may wash away my sins at stake Just to make them again Just to wake up alone again And again Ha! Oh girl your touch is making It hard for me to fake anything at all You’ve got me holding on Just whisper lies so soothing And you’ll have my body moving right Oh, You’ve got me holding on And where is the rain? So he may wash away my sins at stake Just to make them again Just to end up alone again And again

My friends heard of this party And I feel like making noise So I packed up my guitar in your car We’re heading out We gotta get feeling alright Because lately I’ve been thinking About growing up and moving up But I’m going down, I’m going down Six whole feet into this ground And as for this town and their ideals Well I ain’t signing no deals Just turn the radio up I only got one life I’m gonna live it up We’re gonna crash that big party We’re gonna bring back the party Now it’s a quarter past ten We’re late again But then again We always like to make a fashionably late entrance Just to add a little mystery To this town, My friends and me They don’t know us but we’ll soon meet And we’ll sing some of our stories And maybe drink away our worries And spark some sort of conversation Now I’m having fun I’m gonna drink this night up until it’s gone Oh yeah, we’re gonna party We’re gonna bring back the party Now as I walk throughout the house Through the double doors But now there’s four I see familiar faces within familiar relations As they often brew We let the booze make all the rules And we did what we came to do Made an escape for tonight Made an escape from our lives Back to real life Through that sweet sunrise

Follow me Into a world of misery You’ll find the blackest of all hearts down here You’re in good company It always rains It never shines The overcast clouding your mind But don’t look so surprised It’s ordinary And sometimes we fall Into a darkness And sometimes we stay Longer than promised Always my friend Yet so dishonest For the ones that hide it And the ones that deny it It’s ordinary Follow me Into a world of misery You’ll find the blackest of all hearts down here You’re in good company It always rains It never shines The overcast clouding your mind But don’t look so surprised It’s ordinary It’s hard to breathe When the world surrounds you And tells you how to live And what to look like too So many lost Living with no clue Struggling with such standards That are set by me and you It’s ordinary Follow me Into a world of misery You’ll find the blackest of all hearts down here You’re in good company It always rains It never shines The overcast clouding your mind But don’t look so surprised It’s ordinary

about

Valiant's Debut (Two-Piece) LP

"On Our Own" Is the story of the band moving out west, losing two band members, and the perseverance to continue to nurture the rebellious spirit that made them.

With their local success in Pennsylvania flourishing, and getting a taste for the limelight along the way, the band switched gears and relocated to Southern California in 2006.

After quickly establishing themselves out west, within the local punk scene throughout Riverside County and well beyond, two of four original members (Jason Falvey, Adam Rice) parted ways to pursue other interests. After much deliberation, Eric and Alexander decided to keep the band going with a complete restructure.

...And then there were two...

While keeping their punk-rock roots at their core, Alex switched from electric to acoustic guitar as the main instrument. Focusing more on retrospective, insightful, sometimes poetic lyrics, creating a fresh acoustic, post-punk, folk-rock soundscape. Valiant, in their two-piece arrangement, was officially born. No bass guitar. No shredding lead guitars or solos. Just two guys thrashing with an acoustic/electric guitar, passionate and commanding vocals, and Eric's unwavering powerhouse drum orchestrations and arrangements.
